When I grew up in Chicago as a small boy, it was my excitement and interest in the Burnham Plan when I was around six years old that eventually morphed into a love for Urban Planning. It's also the reason I love Chicago so much: the desire to think big.
That Chicagoan "habit" still exists today in The Burnham Plan Centennial Program and in a related design competition by the Chicago Architecture Club, called "Burnham Plan 2.0" and described to a degree in this video above by the Chicago Tribune and in more detail in this proposal video below:
The plan to "stir men's blood" of yesterday, has become the plan to "stir our blood" today. Check it out and get involved.
